The City Of Leeds Basketball Club is delighted to announce the entries that the club have made into Basketball England's Senior and Junior National Leagues & Regional Leagues for the upcoming season.
As the 2024/25 basketball season approaches, Basketball England have confirmed the competition structures for both the National Leagues and Regional Leagues ahead of the new campaign. Following the biggest year ever for the club in terms of National League participation in the 2023/24 season, we are excited to see what another year of growth will bring for our young people.
COLBC Director Matt Newby is excited by the prospect of another year of developmental success and growth for the programme:
"The 2024/25 season promises to be the most exciting yet with further expansion of the Junior National League programme at The City Of Leeds Basketball Club. Incredibly strong numbers at the City Of Leeds Basketball Academy and significant growth in our community interests over the last year, means that for those taking the helms of our respective age groups, there is great opportunities ahead with some exciting announcements to come. We have seen increased representation in both our male and female categories over the summer with plenty of room for growth still available within the girls' side of the programme for prospective young women to join our teams.
We look forward to entering our second year in partnership with Leeds Beckett University and offering their students the opportunity to step into the National League alongside the very best of our Academy cohort. Positive strides are again being made by the Yorkshire Basketball fraternity as the Regional outlets available to our young people continue to grow, ensuring that all of our athletes will compete on an appropriate level for their stage of development in the upcoming season."
